The City of Tye offers tree limb removal for residents within the city that have an active water account. City maintenance employees pick up limbs on the third Thursday of every month. This service is a courtesy the city provides to help residents with minor clean up of their property. Please review the following rules before setting out your limbs:
Limbs must be cut in lengths of 4 feet or less, so that one person is able to load them. There is a difference between limbs and trunks. For large trunks or multiple trunks, please contact the Public Works office. If they are not able to load them, other arrangements will need to be made.
It should only take five to ten minutes for the workers to load your limbs. You will need to make other arrangements to have the limbs removed if it takes any longer.
The city has a designated roll-off container available to residents whose limb or brush pile exceeds what the workers will pick up. The rental cost for the container is $50.00 and can be placed on your property for you to load. This container is for limbs and brush ONLY! Any other garbage placed in this container can result in the rental cost being increased to $225.00.
If you want to discard the limbs yourself and not wait for the maintenance workers to pick them up on the third Thursday of the month, you may haul them to the brush pile, located at the City Maintenance Yard at the south end of Morgan St. The yard is open Monday through Friday, 8am - 3:30pm.
