Public Works - Sewer

The Public Works office is responsible for providing and maintaining the city's sewer system. The City of Tye has a contract with the City of Abilene to dispose and treat sewer water generated by residents of Tye. Department workers maintain the system by repairing leaks, performing clean-outs and replacing sewer lines as needed.

In order to provide and maintain this service, the City of Tye has adopted the following rates, sorted by Residential and Commercial:

Residential

• Minimum sewer charge: $8.00 plus $1.90 per 1,000 gallons of water usage
  

Commercial

• Minimum sewer charge: $22.00
  

• Usage amount is the same as residential
  

The Public Works office is not responsible for sewer lines that run from the residence to the connection. In addition, the office is not responsible for septic systems. For more information, please contact us at 325-692-8588.
